A Single Couplet

A pair of simple lines twirl together with such ease that they can evoke a feeling of forlorn regret or a swirl of fruitful glory. This is an example of an easy couplet that carries several intense ideas along with each simple word as well as light definitions, symbolism, and other examples of rhetoric.

The silence is naught but a sword with a hilt,

to slay the Devil along with his filth.
