Constructing a Meme

To make a meme in the most elaborate and efficient pattern, one must first know and understand what a meme is. A meme is, by Google’s instant definition, “an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, especially imitation.” It’s a method of culture that the internet adopts, similar to a sort of ‘inside joke’ within a community. It never fails to make others laugh. A picture can be a meme, a person can be called a meme, a certain font could represent a meme. The finest part of meme culture is the fact that, as of 2016, it has demonstrated ideals of meta. The memes themselves have become memes.

You have to spam in order to create a meme. Whether of one image to a specific community or a shared post on a popular Instagram page, it is nonetheless necessary. Within my school, a rough trio of my pals (Kevin Chen, Anthony Gao, and myself) have formulated a meme of a yellow child we know in real life. He is a kind fellow, and has taken well to becoming a meme.
