Ode to Harambe
One gorilla I love the most,
more than my fiance,
the glorious, late beast,
The brown-black Harambe
One day after being seventeen,
a day after his anniversary of birth,
a small child fell into his home,
and ignored his pleas for girth
The outsiders screamed for his life,
the police took it the other way,
in his death, brought by fear,
the child had no say
And now a tear falls from my eye,
With the question coming to me,
would I sacrifice myself for him?
It will never be answered, you see
Whilst folk sip their coffee,
their soda and milk tea,
the forever image of Harambe,
will be in their memory.
